Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
Shaunna is a qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist who holds a Masters in Psychotherapy and has been working in private practice for several years. Shaunna is also a qualified and accredited Medical Social Worker with CORU. She has been working within the Health Service Executive for the last eight years. Working in a clinical setting has afforded Shaunna the opportunity to work with various different social and emotional issues, giving her a greater understanding of the needs presenting within a therapeutic relationship. Shaunna is currently working within a hospital based cardiac rehabilitation programme, where she provides 8 week stress management programme.
Shaunna has spent a number of years working with people who suffer with depression, anxiety, stress and illness (acute/chronic). She works on a one to one basis and takes a humanistic, client-led approach to her work, with a particular emphasis on how early relationships can have an impact on our current lives and relationships. She also takes an integrative approach where appropriate, using brief therapy, Gestalt, Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural techniques. Clients have an opportunity to engage in mindfulness meditations and relaxation techniques, should this be of interest or need.
